Simply fearsome |
This is Battlepug, the Eisner Award wining webcomic by Mike Norton. As far as webcomics go, it hasn't been around for a while but it is worth the read. So once you've finished this review you should head over to the Norton's site and read it. It's basically a parody of the sword and sorcery favorite, Conan the Barbarian.

Chew your food with your mouth closed |
The story is told by a woman who is apparently a princess, due to the fact that she lives in a decked out tower and has nothing better to do than tell her anthropomorphic pugs. Also, she's got neat tattoos and apparently dislikes clothes.
|
Giant Seals=terrifying |
The Warrior, who has no name in this story, hails from a northern land (Like Conan). His family and his tribe are killed by a giant evil (yet fluffy) seal. All of the beasts in this comic seem to be giant versions of usually harmless animals.

God that thing is ugly |
|
And a Salamander thing |
|
A Prairie dog made out of smaller prairie dogs |
|
Ho Ho Ho and blood |
Well after his life gets crashed by the fuzzy seal, the Warrior finds his way into slavery....under Santa Claus. A very badassed Santa
And to add to the silliness that permeates this comic, the Warrior is accompanied by his loyal Battlepug, and a few other eccentric companions.

D'awwwww |

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? |
There's a young girl who can manipulate plant life and has a penchant for cursing,
And an old dude who apparently has turrets. But all things considered this comic is worth your time and even your money. A volume has been released, Blood and Drool, and this Eisner recipient does deserve to be in your library. If you have no money and you just want to read this comic, head on over to
http://battlepug.com/, and enjoy.
